New Year's Eve in Millbrook with Rotary

Kickstart your New Year celebrations with a vibrant community event in the heart of Millbrook, New York. Organized by the dedicated members of the Millbrook Rotary Club, this fun-filled event promises an evening of music, entertainment, delicious treats, and community spirit. The event will take place on December 31st from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, turning the village of Millbrook into a lively hub for families and individuals of all ages.

A Community Tradition

New Year's Eve Millbrook is a cherished local tradition that was inspired by the famous First Night celebrations in Boston. Michelle Deval and Ashley Lemke, two enthusiastic Rotarians, have been instrumental in organizing this event for the past three years.

Michelle Deval shared, "One of the things we noticed early on was that we need to bridge with other clubs like the Millbrook Arts Group and the local library to make the event really special." This collaborative spirit ensures a rich and diverse mix of activities and entertainment for everyone.

Family-Friendly Entertainment

The evening will be packed with activities suitable for all ages. As Ashley Lemke notes, "We have all of the kids' activities and entertainment in the Grace Church Parish Hall, which is nice." The lineup includes a puppet show, a magician, face painters, and balloon twisters, making it a dream evening for children.

Music enthusiasts can enjoy performances by local bands like Hammerhead Horns, Miss Paula and the Twang Busters, and Night Train in Lyle Church. This year, the musical theme is Mardi Gras, adding an exciting twist to the festivities. Michelle Deval adds, "We're very excited to bring a little bit more upbeat and music to the event because people want to dance on New Year's Eve."

Delicious Local Treats

No celebration is complete without great food, and this event will not disappoint. Attendees can savor delicious crepes and hot drinks, thanks to vendors like Crepe Royale and Spark Coffees, both discovered at the Millbrook Farmer’s Market. As Michelle Deval emphasizes, both are "great local connections that add to the community feel of the event."

A Rotarian-Driven Event

The Millbrook Rotary Club is not just about organizing New Year's Eve events. They are actively engaged in various community projects, including a community refrigerator project that aims to provide fresh food to local residents in need.

New Year's Eve Millbrook beautifully showcases Rotary’s motto of "service above self." Ashley Lemke highlights the importance of their work, stating, "It's a great way to have an in-person interaction and help your community."
