With the rise of substances like fentanyl complicating the crisis, the Hudson Valley saw approximately 120 overdose deaths last year alone, a number consistent over the past decade. Fentanyl, he explains, is often mixed with other drugs to enhance potency, which can tragically increase the risk of fatal overdoses.

The Marc Foundation also plays a crucial role in recovery and prevention. They manage sober housing and offer financial support for essentials like rent and educational pursuits for those in recovery. Additionally, the foundation maintains a drug overdose memorial behind Gold's Gym in LaGrange, providing a space for remembrance and reflection. Here, individuals can purchase bricks to honor loved ones, contributing to the memorial and the foundation's fundraising efforts.

Through these efforts, the Marc Foundation not only addresses the immediate needs of individuals affected by addiction but also fosters a supportive community that encourages recovery and remembrance. Their mission is to generate financial support for prevention and residential treatment, significantly impacting those struggling with substance use disorders in the Hudson Valley.
