Elena Mosley, also the Executive Director of Operation Unite New York, actively integrates the principles of diversity and service in her daily endeavors. Her organization, Operation Unite, serves as an educational and cultural arts center that engages with the broader community. This year marks their 33rd year of unparalleled service, reaching beyond the bounds of Hudson to impact Columbia and Greene counties.

One of the core issues tackled by Rotary is the misunderstanding surrounding diversity. Elena explains, "The word diversity has taken on a negative connotation... It's not about race, it's about us as people. And that's why I'm so proud to be a part of this, because we're talking about people, we're all human and that's who we're serving." This perspective underlines Rotary’s effort to transcend stereotypes, focusing on shared humanity and service.

Furthermore, Rotary's commitment to accessibility and community representation is unwavering. Through initiatives like "Think Differently," they aim to ensure inclusivity by recognizing community diversity. Elena shares, "We are serving everybody and anybody who is in need of service and, in turn, wants to join us and pass it on."
